Wide range of Clean Room Ovens Available

Nov 13 2013

Using the most frequently quoted terminology of Federal Standard 209E, the Carbolite CR Series Ovens are suitable for operation within Class 100 environments and the Carbolite HTCR Series Ovens are available for either Class 100 or Class 1000 zones.  However although still in common usage this standard was cancelled by the IEST and ANSI as long ago as November 2001. The replacement standard for defining the upper limits of particulate cleanliness is now ISO 14644-1. So it would be more appropriate to define the CR Series as ISO Class 2 and the HTCR as being available in either Class 2 or Class 3 configurations. Class 2 defines broadly that no more than 100 particles per cubic metre, of  ≥ 0.1µm in size, will be shed into the environment. Class 3, that there will be no more than 1000 particles of ≥ 0.1µm per cubic metre.

Once cleaned using the user’s standard material entry protocols, the CR and HTCR Ovens are constructed so that all sources of particulate contamination are fully sealed so as to prevent shedding. There are no sources of contamination from insulation fibres, lubricants or motor brushes. The smooth epoxy painted exterior and polished stainless steel interior enable the user to easily maintain oven surfaces clean and contamination free.

The standard 301 temperature controller is covered in an easily cleaned membrane and where more than simple PID control or process timing are required a range of programmable controllers and programmable and data-logging controllers can be specified when ordering the ovens.

Sizes for the 250°C CR Series ovens start at the compact 30 litre model and are available in 9 sizes with the largest comprising the CR 1790 which has a nominal volume of 1810 litres.

The HTCR – High Temperature Clean Room ovens start from a similar 28 litre capacity and are available in 5 sizes up to a 1000 maximum in each of three temperature ranges of 400°C, 500°C and 600°C. Optional floor stands are available throughout the sizes.
