The First Pre-Dosed Boric Acid Powder Formula for Kjeldahl Colorimetric Titration
Nov 08 1986
The preparation of the boric acid receiving solution for colorimetric titration has never been so easy thanks to the Velp Scientifica VreceiverTM.
During the Kjeldahl distillation process, the ammonia content is condensed and collected in a boric acid solution to avoid loss of gaseous NH3. For the calculation of the results, it is possible to perform a colorimetric titration where the determination of Total Kjeldahl Nitrogen involves the titration of ammonia present in the distillate through the detection of the colour change in the titration vessel.
The VreceiverTM sealed bags contain a certified formula for 1 litre solution composed of Boric Acid powder and a mixture of indicators, Bromocresol green and Methyl red, mentioned by the AOAC methods. The innovative and convenient packaging guarantees a long shelf life and an easy storage.
The preparation process of the receiving solution takes place in few minutes instead of the traditional time-consuming operations obtained combining single elements. In addition, thanks to VreceiverTM the operator is sure to prepare a reliable and standardised receiving solution, which ensures accurate and precise Total Kjeldahl Nitrogen determinations.
