New Tests Ensure Hydrasys Remains a Favourite for Clinical Laboratories

Sep 27 2006

New tests for HYDRASYS?, the leading automated agarose gel electrophoresis system, are being developed by Sebia to extend the application range of its best selling instrument. HYDRASYS remains the most popular system for clinical laboratories as its flexibility allows for a wide variety of size and type of workload. Patented methodologies for sample application give greatly enhanced resolution and sensitivity making interpretation of results easy.

The walk away operation which automates all the tedious sequential steps of electrophoresis and immunofixation provides substantial labour and cost savings. A throughout of 162 proteins, 45 haemoglobins or 18 immunofixations an hour meets the demands of busy laboratories. The ability to migrate and stain two different gels simultaneously and accommodate a wide range of sample numbers makes the system efficient for smaller users.

Easy and reliable operation is assured by a comprehensive set of test assays and migration programmes. Consistency and reproducibility are enhanced by automatic regulation of electrical supply and temperature control. Preparation of the water-based reagents is clean and easy with no additional bulk reagents required.
