Automated Benchtop Tube Sorter Systems

Nov 06 2006

For laboratories tasked with picking large numbers of tubes from compound storage libraries - Micronic BV, specialists in traceable sample storage solutions, have introduced the new XL Automated Tube Sorter range.

Compact in design the Micronic XL9/XL20 Tube Sorter systems bring large-scale automated tube handling within the affordable budget of most laboratories. Features such as individual tube identification, bar coded rack set-up and detailed log files make the XL Automated Tube Sorter range a best-in-class automation platform.

Micronic XL9/XL20 Tube Sorter systems are designed to automate transferring tubes between multiple 96-tube racks. Intelligent robotics allows unattended and error-free processing of 9 or 20 tube racks at a time. For large compound libraries the XL advanced tube management system allows dynamic exchange of tube racks facilitating virtually an unlimited number of tubes to be automatically sorted. Built for productivity the XL9/XL20 systems will automatically sort up to 900 tubes per hour.

Each XL Automated Tube Sorter system includes highly intuitive Windows? based control software enabling unattended processing of user work lists to sort, scan and weigh tubes. The software guides rack loading allowing for rapid set up of even complex tube sorting operations. Work list progress and tube scan results are clearly displayed in real time. The XL Automated Tube Sorter system log files can provide a complete sample management audit trail of location, scanned image, tube weight, and 2D code information for each tube processed.

Encoder based automation and a robustly engineered robotics platform combined with the XL9/XL20's 2D tube scanner and bar coded rack management features ensure reliable continuous operation over long periods of time.

Dedicated to the design and production of innovative sample storage tubes, accessories and instruments over the last 25 years, Micronic is uniquely able to offer laboratories the expert advice to help them safeguard one of its most valuable assets its samples.
