Achema 2009 Continues to Break Laboratory Exhibition Visitor Records

Jan 07 2009

ACHEMA 2009 is set to continue its impressive record of achieving the largest visitor attendance figures of any lab show worldwide.
Around 40,000 global visitors are expected to flock to the four Laboratory and Analytical halls which will feature a comprehensive range of laboratory equipment for physical and chemical analysis, sample preparation, weighing, dosing, spectroscopy, chromatography, laboratory diagnosis and automation.

The halls will also be spotlighting a broad spectrum of laboratory consumables and accessories including glassware, reagents and furniture.
ACHEMA`s `thematic` approach also allows attendees to visit other relevant areas of the show. The event`s sectors covering Biotechnology, Research and Innovation, Instrumentation/Control/ Automation Techniques, Mechanical and Thermal Processes are attractive for senior managers whose responsibilities extend beyond the laboratory area into other application areas or disciplines.

ACHEMA`s `one-stop shop` philosophy explains why the event has such an unchallenged global appeal with large increases in exhibitors and visitors from outside of Germany being expected.

Just 9 months before the doors open, more than 550 exhibitors have already booked space in the Laboratory and Analytical Techniques sector of ACHEMA 2009 alone. Of these, about half are from outside of Germany. The UK`s 60+ exhibitors represent the largest overseas participation. The show is set to house over 700 exhibitors from about 30 different countries and will cover 36,000m2 of exhibition space.

Exhibitor`s reasons for attending can vary greatly, but the following is not atypical.

A specialised supplier of premium quality laboratory reference standards, Paragon Scientific Ltd, decided to exhibit at ACHEMA for
the first time in 2006.

After the event, Joanne Poole, Paragon`s Sales and Marketing Manager said: “As an SME it was a considerable undertaking for us, however
we identified this as a key scientific trade show likely to attract many of our existing distributors and customers whilst also presenting us with an opportunity to identify potential new distributors. The show was very well attended; from early until late, by a truly international
spectrum of key dealers and end users, which completely exceeded our expectations.” Poole continued: “We had a phenomenal event resulting in the appointment of more than 30 new partners worldwide. We recovered our
investment within a couple of months, and still continue to enjoy considerable growth that we can attribute directly to the success of
ACHEMA. This show presented us with so many opportunities it is simply not to be missed.”

The Laboratory and Analytical Techniques Exhibition Group is once again receiving strong support from British companies with the backing
of GAMBICA, the trade association that represents the interests of companies in the instrumentation, control, automation and laboratory technology industry in the UK. GAMBICA is playing a key role in helping to manage much of British participation at the event.

A parallel scientific Congress is running alongside the exhibition and will feature more than 900 specialist lectures. The Congress allows all the ACHEMA exhibitors the opportunity to detail the features and benefits of their technologies to a global audience.
