New Reagents Simplify RNA Research

Applied Biosystems has developed a line of reagents for streamlining the process of quantitative reverse transcription PCR in RNA-based research applications. The new solutions expand Applied Biosystems’ portfolio of reverse transcription PCR reagents.
The High Capacity RNA-to-cDNA Master Mix and High Capacity RNA-to-cDNA Kit are for first strand cDNA synthesis, TaqMan® RNA-to-CT™ 2-Step Kit and Power SYBR® Green RNA-to-CT 2-Step Kit are for screening a large number of targets from the same sample, and TaqMan® RNA-to-CT™ 1-Step Kit (to be released April 2008) and Power SYBR® Green RNA-to-CT 1-Step Kit are for one-step workflows with reduced hands-on processing.
In one-step reverse transcription quantitative PCR kits, all reactions from reverse transcription to quantitative PCR occur in a single tube, and are most effective for the detection of a single target from many samples or when a streamlined process with minimal chance of cross contamination is desired.
Two-step reverse transcription PCR kits offer flexibility when
screening for multiple targets or archiving cDNA libraries.
These new reagents are specifically validated and optimised for
use with Applied Biosystems’ assays and its industry-leading line of real-time PCR instrument systems.
