High precision thermoregulation experts Huber Kältemaschinenbau, headquartered in Offenburg, Germany, has been honoured with a 'Grand Prix of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises' competition finalist award after being shortlisted from 5,009 entries, a record in the competition’s 21-year history.

The 'Grand Prix for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises' awarded by the Oskar Patzelt Foundation based in Leipzig, is held in recognition of the SME’s which have created millions of new sustainable jobs in industry, trade, services, and handcraft - virtually unnoticed by the public. No other economic competition in Germany receives such an enormous response - and for participating companies it is all about the honour, public acknowledgment and confirmation of its performance, said Huber.

The company attended an awards gala for the competing regions of Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg, Hesse and Thuringia, which took place on September 26 in Würzburg. More than 400 entrepreneurs along with numerous invited guests participated and Peter Huber Kältemaschinenbau GmbH was selected as one of the five 'finalists' from Baden-Württemberg, prevailing against strong competitors. Huber was nominated by the City of Offenburg and Volksbank Offenburg eG.

On receiving the coveted award an excited Joachim Huber, general manager at the company, said: "We are proud of receiving this great award for our work. Many successful companies from different industries have been nominated for this award. We have convinced the jurors of our company. The award confirms our company objectives and is a great motivation to further pursue our path regarding job protection, innovation and environmental responsibility.”

The finalists were selected by a Jury which assessed each company’s economically healthy overall development, its ability to create and protect jobs and trainee positions, produce innovations, assume responsibility for the society, that is involved locally and is one of the leading companies in its industry sector regarding customer orientation, service, and marketing.
