Seminars to Simplify Lab Compliance

Jan 06 2009

OneSource® Laboratory Services from PerkinElmer recently kicked off the first in a global series of free educational seminars on laboratory compliance. Entitled `Why Worry about Compliance?`, the programme is designed to help all those with responsibility for laboratory compliance understand changing trends and alleviate the potential stress of regulatory inspections.

Internationally recognised consultant Dr. Bob McDowall explains the impact of USP general chapter <1058> on analytical instrument qualification (AIQ) and current trends in computerised system validation (CSV). “It can be difficult to keep up with the changing laboratory compliance landscape, especially for end-users. PerkinElmer has identified the need to increase awareness of new regulatory guidelines and has developed the framework to address these through seminars, McDowall commented. A comprehensive guide on how to prepare and manage laboratory audits to ensure future compliance is also presented by PerkinElmer`s in-house expert and validation programme manager, Paul Smith.

The first seminars were held at the Honda Racing F1 manufacturing facility, Brackley, and Old Trafford Football Ground, Manchester. Along with interactive presentations, question and answer sessions provided further opportunity for discussion of industry issues. The events were very well received, generating considerable positive feedback from delegates. Additional seminars are planned across Europe as part of a global programme.
