Latest developments in the field of high-performance liquid phase separations - focus of HPLC 2011
May 04 2011
Although high-performance liquid chromatography is considered as a mature separation method, recently there have been a number of quite exciting novel developments that will further enhance efficient applications of the technique in various fields. The latest developments in the field of high-performance liquid phase separations and related techniques are in the focus of the HPLC 2011 Budapest Symposium.
The series of HPLC Symposia started in 1973 and currently the symposium is held at least annually. It is organized in alternating years in locations in North America and in Europe. In addition, meetings are held in places outside of these territories, especially in Asia. The HPLC 2011 Budapest Symposium will take place on 19-23 June 2011 at the Budapest Congress and World Trade Center in Hungary. The symposium is organized by the Hungarian Society for Separation Sciences.
The scientific program will focus on state-of-the-art technology and the methodology of separation science. It will include eight plenary and thirty keynote lectures, besides eighty-seven lectures. Lecturers both from academia and industry – at the forefront of the field – will present hot topics and state of the art methods of separation science.
Discussions and exchange during poster sessions will constitute an essential and vital component of the symposium. We have received a fantastic feedback in terms of abstract submissions. Some 800 poster presentations are expected to be displayed in two sessions.
Short courses and tutorial lectures will constitute an integral part of the scientific program, which are planned as educational lectures for students and others new to various separation disciplines, and to provide opportunities to broaden one’s understanding of separation science. Moreover, the short courses will provide opportunity to meet and discuss separation problems with the real experts.
Nine tutorial lectures will provide in-depth introduction and overview of current topics. Newcomers and senior researchers are also welcome to attend the tutorial lectures.
Exhibition and vendor seminars are intended to inform the participants about the latest developments in the field in terms of instrumentation, technology, and applications. Fifty-five exhibitors will present their latest innovations in the field of separation science.
During the symposium, prominent separation scientists will be honored. The Halász Medal Award and the Csaba Horváth Memorial Award of Hungarian Society for Separation Sciences, as well as the Martin Medal of the Chromatographic Society will be presented during the HPLC 2011 Budapest Symposium.
The social program of the HPLC 2011 Budapest Symposium will include opening and closing receptions, symposium dinner, an organ concert at the St. Stephen Basilica, and various optional activities. Budapest possesses a rich and vibrant cultural heritage and there are many great sites to visit. The city is world famous for its vivid cultural life: the abundance of concerts, opera performances, recitals, and exhibitions.
Finally, I want to invite all of you who have not yet registered to attend HPLC 2011 in Budapest and to celebrate science at beautiful place in a historic city. For registration and further information, please visit www.hplc2011.com
I am looking forward to seeing you in Budapest in June 2011.
