Cho Named President of Harlan Korea
Feb 17 2014
Kwan Goo Edmond (Ed) Cho, an industry veteran with a broad depth of experience in life sciences and pharmaceuticals, has been selected as the President of Harlan Korea.
As president of Harlan Korea, Cho will have full profit and loss responsibility and overall accountability for all aspects of the Harlan Contract Research Services (CRS) business stream serving the Korean chemical, agrochemical and pharmaceutical markets.
“Dr Cho was selected to provide leadership to our Korean organisation in an increasingly competitive and complex commercial, regulatory and technical environment because he has a proven ability to work across departments,” said Eric Hess, Harlan CRS Vice President of Commercial Operations. “We are confident Dr Cho can plan and execute strategies to provide top-quality service to the Korean markets.”
Prior to joining Harlan CRS, Cho was director of market access and business development for Zuellig Pharma Korea, an $8 billion subsidiary of the Zuellig Group, providing contract services and clinical reach to multinational companies in more than 15 countries. He also held sales, marketing and management positions of increasing responsibility during 14 years with LG Life Sciences, Ltd, and served in the Special Forces of the Korean Army.
Cho earned a bachelor’s degree as well as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Seoul National University.
“Korea is increasingly important for Harlan,” said Manuela Leone, Harlan CRS President. “Hiring industry-leading talent like Dr Cho to support the local market is part of our growth strategy in Southeast Asia.”
