BioTek Continues to Benefit Vermont Economy through China Focus
Apr 26 2012
BioTek continues to focus on the growing the Chinese market, thereby contributing to Vermont’s economy and expanding employment opportunities. BioTek’s continued focus over the past five years includes launching a Chinese language web site and opening offices in Beijing and Shanghai to better support its growing Chinese customer base. The Company has also invited Chinese delegates and students to tour the company to gain a better understanding of trading opportunities between Vermont and China.
Further supporting this commitment, BioTek was recently mentioned in a meeting between Vermont Governor Shumlin, Vice President Biden and Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping concerning expanding trade between the United States and China. Governor Shumlin noted, “This was a unique opportunity to highlight for Vice President Xi Jinping a number of growing high technology companies in Vermont such as BioTek, who have demonstrated substantial growth and commitment to the Chinese marketplace.”
“With an established office in Beijing, and the launch of our second office in Shanghai, we are well positioned to better support our growing customer base in China and also grow manufacturing jobs here in the US,” noted Briar Alpert, CEO of BioTek. “It is very helpful to have Governor Shumlin representing Vermont companies to the highest levels of government, thus helping us grow jobs here in Vermont.”
