Nikon Instruments Europe and SLEE Medical GmbH have announced an agreement for a distribution partnership that appoints Nikon as the
official European distributor of SLEE’s pathology specimen preparation equipment. Nikon will distribute the full range of SLEE’s precision-made instruments and consumables to the clinical market, including hospitals and academic medical centres within Europe.
Welcoming the new agreement, Peter Drent, General Manager, Biosciences at Nikon Instruments Europe, said: “There is a synergy between us, making this an ideal partnership. SLEE has over 50 years’ heritage in offering high quality instruments for histopathology sample preparation. Starting with the development of the first ever cryostat, SLEE has gained a reputation in this area for technological innovation and precision. With over 90 years’ heritage, Nikon pioneers microscopy technology, using its advanced technologies to develop innovative imaging solutions. By offering these instruments alongside Nikon’s microscopes and digital cameras, we are now able to offer the clinical laboratory
the complete pathology solution.”
Offering ease of operation, the specialised range of SLEE microtomes, cryostats and embedders incorporate the latest technical and ergonomic designs. The precision-made modular rotary microtomes range from the manual CUT 4062, semi-automated CUT 5062 to the fully automated CUT 6062 and are ideal for paraffin sections and research, plastic and industrial applications. Ranging from the compact benchtop MTC to the larger MEV and fully automatic MNT model, SLEE cryostats offer ergonomic, optimised design and professional performance with a large, easily accessible cooling chamber; easy-to-use electronic control and automatic defrost. All incorporate a strong, precision-built rotary microtome. The compact MPS1/P1 embedder provides a space saving and efficient solution for smaller and medium-sized laboratories, while the MPS2/P2 offers a large container capacity. This range is complemented by a comprehensive array of tissue processors, stainers and consumables.
