Motic launches a new Wi-fi microscopy camera, the Moticam X

Oct 23 2012

Motic, on of the worldwide leaders in educational and high-end microscopy, introduces the Moticam X, the newest addition to their range of cameras dedicated to Digital Microscopy.

Integrated Wi-Fi capability enables Moticam X users to connect to multiple devices by using the MotiConnect app available in iOS and Android app stores. With the Moticam X any conventional microscope can be virtually turned into a Wi-Fi microscope, making photo-sharing easier than ever before.

Just like the rest of the Moticam series, the Moticam X can be connected to most microscopes. A wireless internet signal is transmitted to iOS and Android devices as well as Wi-Fi enabled computers. The wireless system can support up to six different mobile devices viewing the images from a single microscope at the same time. The MotiConnect app is the only thing a user needs to wirelessly connect their microscope to mobile devices. Users can download the MotiConnect app for free from the Google Play store or the iTunes Apple Store. The app comes complete with all the functions of the well-established Motic imaging software, including the ability to save and send microscope images, make notes on the images, view live images on multiple wireless devices and make measurements. The MotiConnect app makes data sharing possible in a collaborative environment, encouraging teamwork and collective learning experiences. Each Moticam X also includes Motic Images Plus 2.0 software with lifetime upgrades at no additional cost.

The Moticam X takes the next step in bridging the gap between wireless technology and microscopy. Moticam X allows users to enjoy the freedom of mobility while sharing data. The Moticam X can be purchased from official Motic dealers and will be available worldwide starting December 1st, 2012. Attendees of World DIDAC exhibition, which will take place in Basel (Switzerland) from October 24-26th, 2012 can get a sneak peek at the brand new camera.
