Novel FTIR Imaging Microscope Announced
Nov 18 2019
Bruker launches the novel, stand-alone FTIR imaging microscope LUMOS II on 28 October 2019, offering ultrafast FTIR imaging using focal-plane array (FPA) detectors. It is built to identify particles, determine coatings and contaminations, and to reveal polymeric compositions. It's intended for QC and failure analysis in pharma, polymers, chemical and electronics, and forensics applications.
The LUMOS II records FTIR data in transmission, reflection and attenuated total reflection (ATR). By default, it is equipped with an actively cooled MCT detector to eliminate the need for liquid nitrogen. The LUMOS II accommodates up to three different detectors.
The LUMOS II microscope combines best imaging and spectral performance with user convenience. The motorised ATR crystal is integrated into the objective, allowing full automation in all modes. The intuitive interface provides all users with an easy way to achieve rapid results.
The LUMOS II fulfils the requirements of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP). Validation options are available for compliance with cGMP/GMP, US, ChP, JP and Ph.Eur., and 21 CFR Part11. Most options can be upgraded at the customer's site. Systems configured for routine use can be upgraded into a high-speed imaging microscope. Its sealed ZnSe optics make the LUMOS II inert to moisture.
