Affordable New High Performance ICP-OES
Feb 20 2012
The new SPECTROBLUE from Spectro Analytical Instruments sets new standards among compact, midrange ICP-OES spectrometers for simplified operation, low maintenance and high sample throughput while achieving the lowest cost of ownership in its class.
The simplified and innovative design of the SPECTROBLUE has led to a remarkably low purchase price for an instrument of this quality. For example, the plasma generator uses novel air air-cooled technology that eliminates the need for expensive external cooling. The new and unique OPIAir axial optical plasma interface needs no external cooling either, and offers sensitivity improvements of up to six times compared to conventional radial plasma observation, achieving detection limits at ppb levels. Interference effects are also much reduced. At the same time the generator’s ample power reserves enable it to handle extreme sample loading while providing exceptional uptime, stability, and reliability.
Another cost-reducing feature is Spectro‘s unique UVPLUS sealed optical system that virtually eliminates gas purging, achieving savings over the instrument’s lifetime that can reach up to a third of the purchase price. The novel, yet proven, Paschen-Runge optical layout combines high optical transparency with a wavelength range from 165 to 770nm, and 8pm resolution in the important analytical region from 165 to 285nm for ease of processing line-rich spectra.
The SPECTROBLUE package is completed by Spectro’s proprietary SMART ANALYSER VISION software, whose highly adaptable interface makes it easy for users of all experience levels to take full advantage of the instrument’s unique analytical capabilities.
