Colour-coded 96-well skirted PCR plates

Dec 13 2023

Azenta Life Sciences announces the availability of its popular FrameStar® 96-well Skirted PCR plate in a spectrum of colours, including purple, blue, clear, green, red, black, and white. This diverse range of colours facilitates visual identification in multi-user laboratories, catering to the needs of busy pathology, molecular diagnostics, and academic labs.

In environments where various users or distinct assay types require differentiation, the introduction of coloured FrameStar® plates proves to be a valuable asset. Assigning specific colours to individual users or distinct assay categories streamlines PCR sample scheduling, providing a quick overview of running samples and those awaiting processing on the thermocycler.

Manufactured from virgin polymer and free from DNase, RNase, human genomic DNA, and endotoxin/pyrogen, the FrameStar® 96-well Skirted PCR plates feature uniform ultra-smooth polypropylene tubes, ensuring optimal PCR and real-time (RT-qPCR) results with every use.

Specifically designed for low-volume PCR applications with reaction volumes below 20µl, the plate's low-profile wells reduce the ‘dead space’ between the heated lid of the thermal cycler and the sample. This design minimises condensation formation on the tube's side wall, preventing PCR volume reduction and enhancing reaction efficiency.

The rigid polycarbonate frame of the FrameStar® 96-well PCR plate offers enhanced mechanical stability, eliminating warping and distortion during PCR, making it an ideal choice for integration with robotic systems. Additionally, the plate's thermal stability ensures excellent seal integrity, minimal sample evaporation, and consistent PCR results.

Further customisable options for the FrameStar® 96-well Skirted PCR plate include barcoding, ethylene oxide sterilisation treatment, an extra rigid skirt for robotic system compatibility, and an ultra-low DNA binding option for applications demanding maximum DNA recovery.

For those eager to experience the benefits firsthand, Azenta Life Sciences invites you to request a free sample plate.
