Quality Systems for Totally Automated Reactions Introduced

Jul 14 2020

Wiggens combines over 20 years of reaction controlling technology. Along with their key equipment range, such as stirrers, vacuum pumps, dosing pumps, pH meters, temperature control units and smart structure stand, the company assemble process auto-reactors to fit today's tough reaction requirements.

Wiggens introduces its new systems for totally automated reactions. Systems are available in bench scale from 25mL up to 6L and large scale pilot plant from 10L up to 100L jacketed reactors. The standard systems, coupled with the new ReacTROL, can control and data log, including jacket temperature, motor speed/torque, and system vacuum and much more. The display shows both the set and actual parameters. Optional parameters can include pH or control pumps for dosing. The software can control, data log, and graph reactions as they occur in real time. The time parameter can establish a delayed start time and set the reaction run time, thus setting the actual end time. Numerous safety parameters can also be set.

Any Wiggens pilot/laboratory plant can be equipped with ReacTROL system. Users have a suitable software package in an interactive HMI (human machine interface) for controlling and/or regulating product temperature by means of temperature control unit, vacuum or pressure into the vessel, stirring speed and opening and various electronic valves. By measuring the pH in the product, the user can create cascade operations (e.g. peristaltic pump activation for product loading).

The reactors are suitable for sulphurisation, nitrification, hydrogenation, hydrocarbons, polymerisation and distillation applications. Other units for separation, mixing, filtering, dispersing and extraction are available. The wide range of materials includes glass reactors, PTFE reactors, stainless steel reactors and Hastelloy alloy reactors. Volumes from bench top reaction system to large scale pilot plants with pressure capabilities from 0.001mbar to 200bar are supplied.
