Emphasizes Competence in Uv -curing Cells for Rheometers

Aug 26 2008

Increased Industry Trend to UV -Curing being met
Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc.,emphasizes its competence in UV-curing cells for rheometers by again extending this accessory range. This meets an increased industry trend to replace thermal curing by UV-assisted thermal curing processes to improve product properties or increase productivity.

Customers now can select between three UV-measuring set-ups:
•The standard version of an UV-measuring cell can be mounted onto a temperature control unit
(liquid, electrical or Peltier plate) and is suitable for UV -curing materials such as inks at ambient
temperature.
•An UV-cell for thermal assisted curing processes at higher temperatures available for the Thermo Scientific HAAKE MARS. It is integrated into the rheometer’s Controlled Test Chamber (CTC) and covers a temperature range from -150°C to 600°C.
•A customizable UV -cell with freely configurable distances for optical components such as light
guides, condensers and glass plates simulates the arrangements of the optical components in the
production process, e.g. for contact lenses.

A commercially available light source can be attached and triggered via the Thermo Scientific HAAKE RheoWin measuring and evaluation software. Applications such as powder coatings, adhesives, sealants, soldering materials, and inks or contact lenses are supported with these measuring cells.
Thermo Fisher Scientific successfully supports a wide range of industries with its comprehensive Thermo Scientific Material Characterization solutions. Material Characterization solutions analyze and measure viscosity, elasticity, processability and temperature-related mechanical changes of plastics, food, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and coatings, plus a wide variety of liquids or solids.
