Quality meets Quality: Teknomek’s premium partner campaign makes no concessions

Feb 20 2020

Hygienic furniture specialist Teknomek is justifiably proud of the reputation its craftmanship has gained over the past thirty years. However, as the market evolves, it recognises the need to partner with other category leading specialists, especially those in tech. Consequently, it has launched a new ‘Quality meets Quality’ campaign and the first specialist products coming to market under this banner incorporate the cutting edge thinking of Dyson and Trespa®.

Sue Springett, commercial manager at Teknomek, explains: “We’re very particular about which third parties we align with – and it’s taken us some time to formalise the ‘Quality meets Quality’ strategy. In pairing Teknomek’s best-in class hygienic stainless steel furniture with the some of the most innovative brands in the world, we’re confident we will meet the needs of the most discerning customers.”

The first products in the new premium range, which are available now, are freestanding tables and lab benches with Trespa TopLab® surfaces. While Trespa Base Tops are available from other suppliers with (mild) stainless steel bases, Teknomek’s are the first to combine Trespa tops with 304-grade stainless steel bases.

Sue Spingett says: “This is a significant step forward for the pharma sector, where it really is so important to coordinate specialist furniture to a given hygiene culture. Putting a high quality top on a lower quality base makes little sense in terms of the total cost of ownership as a mismatch will greatly reduce the lifespan of that piece of furniture.”

The TopLab surfaces have a dense molecular coating that makes them almost impervious to temperature, UV radiation and humidity. Consequently, they are tough enough to manage mechanical, thermal and chemical sterilisation processes. This includes the most aggressive cleaning products, as well as dry heats of up to 160°C/320°F and wet heats of up to 100°C/212°F.

As well as being robust, Trespa’s surfaces combine with Teknomek’s hygienic design, which removes potential dirt traps and increased ground clearance, making each piece of furniture quick and easy to clean.

Sue Springett continues: “To put it bluntly, you wouldn’t put bargain basement tyres on a supercar. The new range offers the best of both worlds; 304 grade stainless steel is robust and naturally anti-microbial, and Trespa TopLab’s High Pressure Laminate (HPL) offers exceptionally smooth and biologically clean surface properties.

Trespa's Toplab surfaces offer a closed surface that limits micropores that can harbour bacteria, and results in a 99.9% reduction in microbes within 24 hours of contact. This provides a RA count that rivals electropolished stainless steel - but at a much more cost-effective price point.

Sue Springett concludes: “The coming together of Teknomek and Trespa fulfils a particular need within a market where compliance is a core consideration. The antimicrobial properties, combined with excellent chemical resistance and durability, make these products an ideal option for cleanrooms and laboratories. We’re calling this Quality meets Quality with good reason.”
