New High Capacity Universal Testing Models
Mar 08 2014
Shimadzu will introduce its latest developments for destructive testing at the Wire exhibition in Düsseldorf, Germany from 7-11 April, 2014. The well-known AGS-X series is now extended by four new models with a higher capacity of up to 300,000 N for tensile, bending and compression tests. Based on their excellent price/performance ratio and sophisticated software, the new models are dedicated not only for quality control purposes, but also for research and development.
The new AGS-X high capacity models are equipped with an internal powerful controller capable of sending measurement data up to 1000 Hz. The load cells have also been improved and now cover a wider measurement range from 1/1 down to 1/500 of the rated capacity. Accuracy is thereby class 1 and even class 0.5 according to ISO 7500-1 and similar regulation. So it is now possible to measure from spider fibres of just 0.002 N up to high-strength steel at 300,000 N using the same machine frame.
In addition to the improved hardware features, the new AGS-X models can also be used with the latest version of the highly sophisticated Trapezium-X software. As well as tensile, compression and bending tests, a wide range of further tests such as peeling, friction, adhesives and texture applications can be performed. Combined with a suitable extensometer, the AGS-X series is also fully compliant with the requirements of ISO-6892 and ISO-527. All existing accessories from grips and fixtures, thermostatic chambers and extensometer up to the powerful TRViewX video extensometer can be commonly used for all models.
