Application Optimised UV Lenses
Jan 25 2023
Resolve Optics is proud to announce their new application optimised UV lenses that are designed to provide inspectors with a highly effective tool for non-intrusive verification of spent nuclear fuel. The lenses have been thoroughly tested and optimised to deliver high performance measurements in the ultraviolet (UV) waveband (200-400 nanometres).
The UV Zoom lens, designed to meet the challenges of this demanding application, is capable of operating in temperatures ranging from 10 to 55ºC and can image objects from 3m to infinity. Miniature motors on the lens allow for remote setting of both zoom and focus functions and a filter slide enables the lens to be switched between UV (270 to 350 nm) and visible (400 to 700 nm) without the need for refocusing. A lockable C mount ensures the lens cannot come loose during operation and the lens achieves high image resolution with low distortion throughout the zoom range without refocusing.
Thanks to the new UV Zoom lens designed by Resolve Optics, inspectors can now make use of a Digital Cerenkov Viewing Device to capture the Cerenkov image of spent nuclear fuel from 13 metres away through 10 metres of water.
