Want to see something really new in Gel Documentation?

Mar 06 2019

Do you want to move your gel and blot imaging to the next level using the latest developments in sensor technology? Gone are the days you simply put a CCD camera in a box and called it a gel documentation system. Pop-Bio Imaging are changing the face of image capture of gels and blots with the innovative Vü system for fluorescence and chemiluminescence. Click here to see our website.

Vü is no ordinary gel documentation system. The Pop-Bio Imaging system uses no cameras, no lenses to adjust, no filters to select, or lasers but instead utilises new CMOS technology to accurately map images at ultra-high sensitivity and resolution. The result is a desk top instrument with a very small footprint that can handle the full range of gel and blot applications – UV, blue light, visible and chemiluminescence. The progressive imaging technology, for which a patent had been applied, is a clever use of imaging sensors that accurately map low levels of light from any gel or blot.

Aside from the new technology being used in the instrument the cost is also considerably lower than that of a traditional gel documentation system which uses high cost CCD cameras, lenses and filters. The Pop-Bio Imaging system aims to become the new standard for gel and blot image capture and replace existing traditional gel documentation systems over the next few years. This device is destined to change the way images of gels and blots are captured.

Two variants of the instrument are available. The Vü-F is for fluorescence applications like Etbr DNA gels using UV or safe dyes using blue light as well as visible light protein gels and blots. The Vü-C has increased sensitivity for chemiluminescent western blots.

The Vü system really is changing the face of gel documentation. The Vü system is simple to use, highly sensitive and is a refreshing new concept in imaging. A detailed brochure is available for download.

Says Pop-Bio Imaging: “since its release in 2018 we have been overwhelmed by the reaction to the Vü system. Our customers love the opportunity of breaking away from the old camera in a box technology and its limitations.”
