Complete sample digestion solutions
Feb 21 2019
Microwave-assisted acid digestion and pressure digestion are important techniques to completely dissolve solid samples for analysis by techniques such as AA and ICP. Lambda Advanced Technology can offer the Speedwave microwave digestion systems and DAB pressure digestion systems from Berghof that can tackle any solid sample from routine analysis to the most difficult of materials. Utilising the expertise provided by the Berghof Fluoroplastics Division, they all feature reactor liners or reaction vessels manufactured from isostatically moulded TFM™ PTFE which gives exceptional mechanical stability and resistance to chemical vapours.
Microwave digestion
Berghof Speedwave microwave digestion systems are designed to deliver first rate results for trace analysis. The Speedwave Entry system is easy to use, safe and cost-effective. It is ideal for digestions at moderate temperatures and pressure ranges in routine analysis, education and training. Users can set up their own temperature programs or make use of the many pre-installed applications including DIN and EPA standards.Typical application areas include food and feed, environmental analysis, medicine, biology and agricultural.
The Speedwave Xpert is a high performance microwave system with a 2,000 W power output for complex digestions of difficult sample material under elevated temperatures and pressures. A patented optical measurement method guarantees users full control over the reaction with instantaneous temperature and pressure measurement in the vessels. A comprehensive application database helps the user to select the right digestion program. The Speedwave Xpert is used in environmental analysis, pharmaceutical analysis, materials, geology, energy, metals and the plastics industry.
A new Case Study is available for download which highlights the Speed Xpert in action.
Pressure digestion meets the biggest challenges
The DAB series of pressure digestion systems are particularly useful for difficult samples, large sample masses, or in labs that value high levels of flexibility. These closed acid digestion systems offer a continuous digestion process at temperatures up to 250ËšC which can run over practically any desired period for difficult to digest samples such as SiC. In addition, the higher pressure range (up to 200 bar) compared to microwave units allows larger sample quantities (e.g., 2 g organic samples) to be digested.
