The Answer to Difficult to Mix Pharmaceuticals

The Thinky ARV-310 and Thinky ARV-5000 from Intertronics are industrial non-contact ‘planetary’ mixers for all engineering compounds. They mix, disperse and degas a wide range of materials in seconds to minutes, in a sealed or lid-less container such as a jar, beaker, syringe tube or cartridge. The non-contact mixing principle, makes it possible to formulate compounds from very small amounts such as 0.5ml to large production scales. The material container revolves and rotates in a planetary manner at high speeds. Centrifugal force presses the material outwards to the inner wall of the container while other forces cause the material to move downwards in a spiralling direction along the slope of container wall. The material then moves back to the centre of the container and up to the top.

The Thinky ARV-310 and the Thinky ARV-5000 have the ability to process under vacuum, or under normal pressure, or even automatically switching into vacuum mode from non-vacuum state during the process.
It is possible to set the desired vacuum level for different types of ingredients. For high-viscosity materials and materials for which a high degree of de-aeration is required these mixers can eliminate micron-sized bubbles, without the danger of foaming and messy spillage.

In the field of pharmaceuticals, Thinky mixers are useful for reagent research and development, the production of suspensions, and for the creation of highperformance materials such as hyaluronic acid. They are also used for the rapid compounding and production of ointments in a mere 30 seconds. Ointments, ointment and powder, cream base materials, gel materials, and other compounds can all be compounded within the
ointment jar eliminating clearing up processes.

In the manufacturing of cosmetic products, such as foundations, multiple pigments often need to be blended. The amount processed at one time using conventional methods normally had to be 1kg or more for the mixing to be practical. In addition, the propeller mixers used conventionally took a long time and were unable to create simple cosmetic samples.

By contrast, Thinky mixers are very effective for cosmetic colour adjustment and sample making. The processing amount can be as small as 5g, which makes it possible to produce multiple samples with different compound ratios in a very short period of time. The finished products themselves are uniform in consistency and provide a smooth feel and colour for the skin.
