Testing Multiple Faecal Markers from One Stool Sample Extract

Determination of several stool parameters from a single stool sample is often difficult because the sample material may be not enough, the analytes may not be stable in the sample, and it means considerable additional workload.

To this purpose Immundiagnostik AG offers a stool sample preparation device pre-filled with IDK Extract®, a universal stool extraction buffer. This combination makes stool diagnostics easy, fast and hygienic.

The stool sample preparation device is dipped into 3 separate spots of the stool sample thereby collecting a defined amount of stool (15 mg) with minimal handling of the sample. Afterwards the sample is simultaneously extracted and pre-diluted with IDK Extract® in a single step. The stool extract can then be used for the analysis of up to 14 stool parameters.    

As an additional benefit, IDK Extract® stabilises the different analytes in the stool sample extract. Thus, sample extraction and analyte testing can be performed on separate days, and the testing can even be spread over several days.
