Chemtrap, the new standalone filtration system for fireproof cabinets

Oct 02 2013

Engineered by Erlab, worldwide leader since 1968 in laboratory ductless enclosures dedicated to operator safety, the new ChemTrap filtration units have been designed to vent and filter vapours coming from chemicals stored into fire safety cabinets.

It allows fire safety cabinets to be totally autonomous by avoiding any connection to an energy consuming air extraction system.

ChemTrap™  offers the following advantages:

USERS PROTECTION
ChemTrap™ filtration system eliminates noxious and odorous vapours generated by chemicals stored into safety cabinets. ChemTrap™ allows to combine inhalation and fire protection. Offered with a filter saturation detector, users are permanently protected and alerted when it is necessary to replace filters.

ADAPTABILITY
ChemTrap™ can be adapted to any fireproof cabinets by connecting a multi diameter flexible pipe. These units are compatible with a large range of fire safety cabinets such as Duperthal and Asecos.

AMBIENT AIR PURIFICATION/NO EMISSION
ChemTrap™ working principle is based on the recirculation of filtered air. It contributes to purify the air of the lab and also eliminates the direct emission of pollutants into the atmosphere.

STANDALONE/ENERGY SAVINGS
Chemtrap can be easily and quickly installed with a flexible connecting pipe to any fire safety cabinet.

It does not require any external air extraction system and can be removed to be used with another safety cabinet. Compared to a safety cabinet which is connected to a traditional energy consuming air extraction system, the very low energy consumption of Chemtraps (47W) allows to substantially save on energy running costs.

New Chemtraps are available for vertical standing safety cabinets (H402 model) and for under bench safety cabinets (V201 model).
