New 2013 Spec 800 Series TEA
Jan 29 2013
The TEA (Thermal Energy Analyser) has been an industry standard for explosives and nitrosamine analysis since its introduction thanks to its incredible sensitivity and almost infinite selectivity for nitrogen containing compounds. Ellutia have updated the 800 Series TEA for 2013. A number of improvements have been implemented to further improve the class leading detection limits.
Newly designed internal plumbing allows for greater sample flow rates whilst maintaining a high vacuum. This dramatically improves the performance of the instrument with high flow rate applications such the use of packed, wide bore columns, or with a glassware chemical stripping system. New selectable time constant filters allow the user to tune the TEA depending upon their peak width, to improve sensitivity by reducing the signal to noise ratio.
These improvements mean that all 800 Series TEAs now achieve a detection limit of at least 800 femtograms of Nitrogen per second on the factory acceptance test of NDMA.
All 800 Series TEAs now ship with this new specification as standard, but users of older 800 Series TEAs do not have to go with out. Older model 800 Series TEA’s can be updated to the latest 2013 specification by Ellutia.
