New Technology for Volatile Organics
Apr 27 2010
Anatune has taken on the distribution of an exciting range of new products for the sampling and introduction of volatile organic compounds for GC and GC-MS.
Entech Instruments manufactures a comprehensive range of innovative preconcentration, automation and sampling technologies that offer new approaches to the measurement of volatile (and some semi-volatile) compounds in air, soil, foods, consumer products, human breath and most other matrices.
Entech’s new 7150 Pre-concentrator enables the introduction of air and headspace samples up to one litre in volume. The Pre-concentrator can be interfaced with a range of auto samplers, which are compatible with a wide variety of sample containers of all shapes and sizes, including, vials, jars, bottles and passivated canisters. This new technology will be useful for many analysts but will be of special value to those working with foods, beverages and consumer products. Being able to work with sample volumes as large as one litre will permit detection limits in the low ppb range to be readily achieved.
Ray Perkins, Anatune’s Managing Director, commented: “Entech has an exciting range of products that exhibit some novel approaches to the analysis of volatile organics. We believe that these new products offer a useful extension to existing sampling and automation options. As an Agilent value added reseller we are in the position to offer both upgrades to existing GC and GC-MS systems, as well as supply and support complete analytical solutions. Working with Entech allows us to tackle an even wider range of analytical problems and offer customers optimum solutions for their analysis.”
