New Line of Particle Size Analysers
Jun 22 2009
Cilas has announced the introduction of a new line of laser particle size analysers. This new line of particle size analysers provides enhanced automation while continuing Cilas’ tradition of offering the most reliable, accurate and easiest to use analysers in the market. The new design includes several patented features that ensure the most accurate and precise particle size results.
A new ergonomically designed sampling interface allows operators to efficiently analyse both liquid and dry samples. The patented compact optical bench is mounted on a cast-iron base plate providing both a rugged and alignment-free operation.
Some of the new technological advantages of the new line of particle size analysers include: integration of both laser diffraction and image analysis. Each CILAS analyser can be configured to include ‘ExpertShape’ image analysis. ‘ExpertShape’ has been developed to analyse the particles morphology by using an inverted optical microscope. This integrated design allows the analysis of both particle size and shape for the same aliquot of sample; each system can be configured with fully integrated liquid and dry dispersion modes. This patented design eliminates the need for the operator to make any manual adjustments. Switching between dispersion modes is completely controlled by the ‘SizeExpert’ software; the Dry Jet Dispersion system includes a new vibrating system, which provides enhanced software control of all particle flow parameters. A new digital regulator controls air pressure and optimises particle de-agglomeration; and the new electronic design offers enhanced system automation. Using ‘SizeExpert’ software all functions are fully automated. This design reduces energy consumption and is compliant with the environmental standard RoHS – Restriction of Hazardous Substances.
CILAS’ new product family includes the 990, 1090 and 1190 particle size analysers. All three analysers can be configured to analyse samples in either a liquid, dry or both liquid and dry dispersion modes. The integrated liquid and dry configuration is the only analyser to fully integrate both liquid and dry dispersion eliminating any manual hardware adjustments.
