CILAS Brings Technological Breakdown in Dry Particle Size Analysis
May 05 2010
Particle size analysis by laser diffraction in dry mode is a popular method in many applications. Most of commercial vibratory systems use only the vibration amplitude to modify the vibration level.
CILAS has patented a new vibrating system to improve particle dispersion in dry mode.
This new development is based on an electronic optimization. Both frequency and amplitude, of the vibration cycle are now adjustable on the vibratory system. Users can then select the frequency in a range from 5Hz and 80Hz as well the amplitude from 5% to 90%.
These parameters can be selected directly on the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) in order to have a traceable measurement.
By using the frequency and amplitude couple, thousands of possibilities are offered to enhance the particle’s flowability and to limit the powder accumulation in the vibratory device. All materials, with all particle size, morphology and density can now be analyzed easily.
This new development is very useful in many applications in which the powder is fine and sticky such as in cement or in catalyst industries.
