Ready-to-Use Protein and Cell Lysates for Cellular Metabolism Research

Jul 13 2022

AMSBIO has expanded its range of top quality, high-performance assay kits, antibodies, enzymes, and substrates for cellular metabolism research.

Cell metabolism is the series of chemical synthesis (Anabolism) and degradation (Catabolism) reactions of complex macromolecules, catalysed by enzymes that take place in living organisms to sustain those organisms. Anabolism uses energy to make macromolecules (sugars, fatty acids, amino acids) and biomolecular polymers (polysaccharides, lipids, proteins). Catabolism releases energy when these are broken down into smaller molecules (carbon dioxide, water, and ammonia) and metabolic intermediates (pyruvate, Krebs cycle intermediates). These processes allow organisms to grow and reproduce, maintain their structures, and respond to environmental changes, meaning that changes to metabolism can have serious effects. Researchers can now source products from AMSBIO to investigate all targets of major metabolic pathways including cellular respiration, oxidative stress, inorganic ion biomarkers as well as post glycolytic and post Krebs cycle pathways.

Drawing upon an extensive network of collaborations, AMSBIO has assembled a comprehensive collection of high quality, ready-to-use protein and cell lysates for use in cell metabolism research. The range includes compartmental total proteins specifically isolated from cell membrane, cytoplasma, cytoskeleton, nuclei, and mitochondria. In addition, focused cell lysates are available from human and a wide array of mammalian species / tissue types.

AMSBIO offers an extensive range of high quality, ready-to-use cellular metabolism activity assay kits that enable fast, high-performance detection of most target proteins. Based on the latest innovative technologies these kits are designed to measure lipid and glycerol levels, folate metabolism, pyruvate metabolism, glycolysis and gluconeogenic pathways, citrate metabolism and oxidative stress.

A new range of tools to advance your post Krebs cycle research have also been introduced. The Krebs cycle is a metabolic pathway that participates in the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins, but is best known for its ability to produce cellular energy in the form of the GTP molecule. AMSBIO now offers an extensive range of products for the biochemical processes responsible for the synthesis of proteins (transcription, translation, and post translational modifications) and amino acids (anabolism), as well as the degradation of proteins (catabolism). Additionally, AMSBIO has introduced an extensive range of products involved in nucleic acid metabolism including RNA metabolism (transcription, translation, and degradation) plus the three main processes (replication, repair, and recombination) of DNA metabolism.
