Next Generation Nano Injection now Available
Jan 12 2017
The Drummond Nanoject II is widely used for microinjection into model organisms such as Drosophila melanogaster, Mosquito and Zebrafish. It is also used for injection into single cell models such as Xenopus oocytes and cultured primary cells. The next generation Nanoject III, now available from Alpha Laboratories Ltd. has enhanced capabilities that extend its applications, the range of model organisms that can be studied and allow investigation at multiple developmental stages.
This new versatility is achieved with an expanded volume, range from 0.6nL up to 999.9nL. In addition, the variable injection rate of between 1nL/second to 200nL/second, enables new applications
such as dose-sensitivity in drug investigations.
New features help make the Nanoject III easier to set up and use. With no O-rings, the small chuck and silicone receiver simplify attachment of the micropipette. The automatic counter enables you to keep track of how many injections have been completed and the auto-homing feature resets the plunger position so you don’t have to do it manually. Single cells can be injected multiple times at a set frequency between injections, improving accuracy in timed injection cycles.
Nanoject III is fully programmable and you can set up multiple (8) injection cycle recipes that can be automatically saved and labelled in sequential order. Program input and execution is enabled by prompted touchscreens located on the control box. Multiple screens are available to program and save injection cycles.
