New design capability in drug discovery platform

Optibrium a developer of software and AI solutions for drug discovery, has launched StarDrop 7.6, the newest version of its platform dedicated to small molecule design, optimisation, and analysis. The highlight of this release is the introduction of Idea Tracker, an extension empowering medicinal chemists to track molecular design decisions, enhancing project management and idea sharing in the drug discovery process.

Traditionally, while information about synthesised compounds is well-tracked, details about the origin and evolution of initial ideas often lack comprehensive documentation. Optibrium's Idea Tracker addresses this gap by providing a registration system for 'virtual' compounds, ensuring a cohesive workflow. It fosters collaboration among team members, regardless of location, offering transparent visibility into compound designs and their progression throughout entire discovery projects. This collaborative feature aids in informed decision-making, prioritising synthesis, and selecting candidates for testing. The integration of data for synthesised compounds with their original designs facilitates easy visualisation of iterative improvements and informs future design strategies.
