Launch of Packed Columns for Biomolecule Separation and Purification
Feb 15 2013
Omnifit® Labware by Diba is launching OmniSep™, a new standard in pre-packed columns for biomolecule separation and purification. High quality agarose- and dextran-based media coupled with easy-to-use Omnifit® glass columns make preparative chromatography cost-effective, efficient and repeatable.
“Having listened to the concerns of laboratory technicians, we wanted to create a solution that was affordable and simple and most importantly, frees up precious research time,” said Scott Brown, VP Sales and Marketing. “Omnifit® Labware is a well-known and respected laboratory brand, and we felt the time was right to extend our offering into gel-based media, to provide our customers with a complete, turnkey solution.”
“By design, OmniSep® media are proven to be commercially equivalent to other leading soft-gel media, not ‘like’ and not ‘better than’,” noted Global Product Manager Trevor Hopkins. “Researchers should expect familiar chromatographic performance from the OmniSep™ media. Each column will be certified for consistency and repeatability.”
OmniSep™ offers columns packed with ten types of cross-linked agarose- and dextran-based media commonly used by laboratories for macromolecule separations. These soft gel media are available for a range of IEX, HIC, SEC and Affinity applications. The OmniSep™ media structure gives the adsorbent high chemical, physical and thermal stabilities, making it ideal for all stages of purification. The rigidity of the cross-linked media permits high volumetric flow rates resulting in fast separations with good resolution. OmniSep media are easy to use, and they tolerate the typical conditions of temperature, pH and chemical agents, including cleaning-in-place (CIP) reagents, routinely employed in biomolecule purification and separation processes.
OmniSep™ will be distributed worldwide exclusively through Kinesis, a leading international supplier of chromatography and liquid handling consumables and equipment worldwide.
