Kromasil EternityXT has more column choices for analytical laboratories and pilot labs
Jul 05 2017
Kromasil, a brand of silica-based particles for chromatography by AkzoNobel Specialty Chemicals, has been expanded with Kromasil EternityXT C8 pre-packed columns for lab testing and small-scale purification.
Kromasil EternityXT C8 consists of uniquely modified silica particles that can be run under a wider pH range than traditional silica materials. The product, already available in bulk for large-scale applications, is now introduced in new convenient pre-packed columns. These Kromasil EternityXT C8 columns are suited for research, development and quality control analysis, small-scale purification of molecular candidates, impurity characterisation and for API purification. To support the early stages of discovery and QC, these columns are shipped in three particle sizes: 1.8 µm for UHPLC applications, 2.5 µm for both UHPLC and HPLC applications and 5 µm for HPLC and semi-preparative chromatography.
The new EternityXT C8 columns add to the overall Kromasil EternityXT platform providing chromatographers more choices for evaluation of low molecular weight compounds, biomolecules including peptides and small proteins. This platform is now available in the following surface modifications: EternityXT C18 and C8 for the separation and purification of acids, neutrals and bases, and EternityXT PhenylHexyl for alternative selectivity, when compounds of interest have an aromatic ring. Analysts and researchers find Kromasil EternityXT family of columns particularly useful under strong basic conditions to improve peak symmetry in analytical mode for bases and in preparative chromatography to increase loading onto the column to achieve higher productivity per run, thus reducing overall purification costs. These user benefits are suitable for the pharmaceutical industry where many compounds are basic in nature, along with applications in clinical, food and beverage industries, as well as environmental monitoring.
