Horiba Nitrogen & Sulfur in Oil Analyser Achieves a Detection Limit of 30 ppb S and 0.1 ppm N

Apr 10 2008

The new international regulations for low sulfur content in refined petroleum products are more and more demanding, and the levels are always pushing lower. It has already been agreed that concentrations will have to be less than 10 ppm by 2008. HORIBA Jobin Yvon offers the appropriate solution with the introduction of the new SLFA-UV21.
This new model SLFA-UV21 ANS is based on the principle of combustion of a fixed volume of sample in a tubular resistance furnace at 1100 °C, with real time combustion control and optimisation. UV Fluorescence is used to analyse the SO2 gas produced during combustion, and nitrogen is measured by chemiluminescence. The SLFA-UV21 ANS is compliant with ASTM D-5453 and ASTM-4629 as well as ISO 20846.
