The Next Generation of Carbon Fiber Centrifuge Rotors
Oct 17 2011
Thermo Fisher Scientific, Inc has introduced the new Thermo Scientific Fiberlite LEX rotor series, combining lower rotor
mass for superior ergonomics with outstanding performance and safety.
By taking the proven Fiberlite® carbon fibre rotor design to the next level, the Fiberlite F10-4x1000 LEX and Fiberlite F12-6x500 LEX rotors are the lightest of their kind, providing RCF up to 16,880 xg and 24,515 xg respectively to maximise productivity. Ideal for use in biomedical and microbiological laboratories, the Fiberlite LEX rotors provide multiple levels of protection against biological agents and infectious substances, enhancing biosafety, without compromising functionality.
This next generation of high-capacity Fiberlite rotors couples the unequalled durability of corrosion- and fatigue-resistant carbon fibre rotors with up to 60% reduction in weight. Lower weight, combined with the rotor’s lifting handle, improves ergonomics for everyday safety and ease of handling.
To further enhance safety, Fiberlite LEX rotors feature a duallocking lid that provides sample containment by enabling the rotor to remain sealed while being transported to a biocontainment hood.
Fiberlite LEX rotors also feature Bioseal technology (certified by the HPA, Porton Down, UK) and enhanced liquid containment (ELC), which prevents biohazardous samples from escaping to the surrounding environment if spilled.
These new Fiberlite LEX rotors are a key component of our integrated solution of centrifuges, rotors and accessories and maximise performance with the versatility, speed and robust, corrosion-free design that Fiberlite rotors are known for.
