Autoclaves
Tailored autoclave solutions for every laboratory need
Jan 02 2025
Established in 1988, Priorclave quickly built a global reputation for producing robust, reliable, programmable, yet cost-effective autoclaves that produce the perfect result time and time again. Priorclave’s very first autoclave is still in regular use today.
When designing and building autoclaves in their UK manufacturing plant, Priorclave has always been guided by its clientele’s requirements, which has resulted in one of the largest and most customisable ranges of steam sterilisers available, encompassing every configuration possible; bench-top front-loaders, free-standing top-loading, high-capacity front-loading, pass-through double ended autoclaves, in fact there are over seventy standard models. To this each model is available in either BASE, SMART or PERFORMANCE options, providing a tailored solution to every unique requirement. When something is not already available, Priorclave offers to design and produce a custom autoclave, expanding upon their product offerings.
With so many choices, it might seem impossible to narrow a choice down, but each Priorclave model does have specific advantages;
The range of Bench-top autoclaves are both small and compact, ideal where either space is an issue and the volume of items to be sterilised is lower, or the medium is more challenging which requires faster processing. For such a small unit, with a 40-60 litre capacity, it can still pack in a lot of added features, traditionally only found on larger autoclaves.
Top-loading vertical autoclaves remain one of the most popular designs for life-science research, not only because they can accommodate the tallest of flasks, fermenters, and bioreactors, but because they’re excellent for processing mixed waste, biological waste, pathogen-heavy materials, cloth and textile sterilisation, soil and substrate preparation, wrapped instruments, as well as porous loads. Priorclave’s top-loading autoclaves continue to be amongst the most compact full-size units on the market and for laboratories seeking a relatively small autoclave for taller items, a vertical chamber steriliser is an ideal solution.
Front-loading autoclaves manage to stand out as one of the most sought-after autoclaves, partially for their cost effectiveness but also because of the diversity with the range itself.
Cylindrical chamber front-loading autoclaves were developed to provide a cheaper and more energy- and water-efficient alternative to traditional rectangular chamber autoclaves. Priorclave’s Q63 range added as much as 20% extra load capacity to the chamber when compared to a traditional autoclave. All of Priorclave’s cylindrical chambers are constructed in 316 stainless steel using a bespoke seam welding system. Priorclave’s seam welder creates one of the strongest, straightest and smoothest seams possible, ensuring overall strength and reliability for a lifetime of regular use.
Stacked cylindrical front-loading autoclaves provide the same capacity as a large autoclave with only half the footprint, but also the option to treat two separate loads differently at the same time.
Large rectangular chamber front-loading autoclaves can be electrically heated, rely on direct steam, or have internal steam generation, all are designed for high throughput, making them popular within various industries, such as food and drink, dairy, pharmaceutical, agriculture, education, healthcare, and research laboratories.
Pass-through autoclaves are both front and back loading, designed to provide a sterile path in and out of sealed laboratories with door interlocks to preserve the integrity of the seal between two parts of the laboratory. Chamber capacity can vary between 150 – 700 Litres, and they can be either cylindrical up to 320 litres, or rectangular up to 700 litres.
Whether you choose from one of seventy existing designs or have an autoclave custom-made to your own unique requirements, every new autoclave supplied by Priorclave features their exclusive Tactrol3® controller, which enables single push-button starts whilst fully gloved, and advanced programming control of the autoclave to ensure each medium is effectively treated to ensure perfect results.
Exterior surfaces will have Biomaster® antimicrobial technology incorporated into them, helping to prevent the growth of, and destroying, a wide range of microbes, combating fungi, mould, algae and bacteria, including MRSA, Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. The silver ion technology incorporated into exterior surfaces provides continuous protection that is proven to be 99.9% effective in clinical trials. The incorporated silver ion technology never wears off or leaches out, so it remains effective throughout the lifetime of your autoclave, helping to keep external surfaces clean and hygienic between scheduled cleans, thus reducing opportunities for microbial growth in your workplace.
Each new autoclave is also covered by some of the most supportive and comprehensive warranty and service agreements in the world. Priorclave can afford to offer these plans because they too know the importance of results and each autoclave is custom-made of exceptional quality.
