The Laboratory Show is expected to attract up to 150 life science and bioscience business owners, University academics, laboratory managers and professional services experts with life science interests.
Dr Mitchell’s talk ‘Leveraging science for long-term growth: from the bench to the BBC’, looks at how the Glasgow City of Science project is tapping into the region’s scientific potential. The Science Council will talk about professional recognition and career development for scientists, and delegates hear how Renishaw Diagnostics turned from university spinout to global player.
Peter Chapman, founder and CEO of Scientific Laboratory Supplies says: “Our speakers at the Laboratory Show represent the depth of scientific knowledge and understanding so evident in Scotland’s standing as a World centre of excellence. Through our company, and its suppliers, we can play our part in supporting world-class science innovation and its commercialisation.”
Belinda Phipps, Chief Executive of the Science Council, says: “We need to build public trust in the quality and cohesion of our scientists, that the science they do contributes to a more sustainable world. It’s great to have SLS and BioCity Scotland showcasing the Science Council’s registers as a means of safeguarding the high professional standards of Scottish scientists.”
