The Microscience Microscopy Congress 2015: your chance to be more 'now'

The Microscience Microscopy Congress 2015 at the end of June offers the best opportunity to see all that is good in microscopy and to catch-up with what is 'now'. Take time out of your busy schedule and join us in Manchester for the year’s largest event dedicated to microscopy and imaging.

If you are refitting your lab or just want to experience a little microscope envy, the exhibition – which is FREE to all visitors – is packed with everything from high-end electron microscopes to day-to-day consumables. More than 100 companies are represented in the main hall, and exhibitors go to fantastic lengths to ensure a great show, providing hands-on access to fully-functioning kit, and contributing to a programme of free company workshops.

The exhibition will keep anybody occupied for a day, but the conference is the best place to experience the full breadth of microscopy. The programme balances the Life and Physical Sciences, and light and electron microscopy. And, this year it incorporates the EMAG conference, plus the Frontiers in BioImaging, and the UK Scanning Probe Microscopy meetings.

The Congress has been designated as a European Microscopy Society Extension, further enhancing its international standing. The early-bird registration rates will remain in place until 1st May and they include generous discounts for students and members of the EMS.

Professor Rik Brydson, Chair of Physical Sciences, said, “Incorporating EMAG is a great step forward for the international microscopy community. I am confident that it will produce real synergy, and the opportunity for researchers and business to interact will be unparalleled. The aim of the Microscience series has always been to represent everyone with an active interest in microscopy, and I think mmc2015 achieves this better than ever.”

The arrival of EMAG within the programme, and the inclusion of the annual SPM meeting, further strengthen the Physical Science content, and the Life Sciences are equally well represented.

“The Life Science programme is stronger than ever, and is exceptionally inclusive,” said Dr Peter O’Toole, Chair of Life Sciences. “Once again it will include the increasingly-popular Frontiers in BioImaging meeting. Just like EMAG, this brings so many positives; it allows an established community to meet within a super-charged microscopy environment against a backdrop of the largest microscopy and imaging exhibition that Europe will see this year. If you are a life scientist using microscopy, or a hard-core microscopist, then this is an ideal opportunity to present your work, and you can still submit abstracts for poster presentation.”

In addition to a great conference and packed exhibition, the main hall is also home to the RMS Learning Zone. This is a fully-equipped teaching and learning area complete with its own small lecture theatre that provides free and instant CPD opportunities.

A day or more at mmc2015 is an ideal and enjoyable way for you and a friend or colleague to acquaint yourselves with what is “now” in microscopy. Put the dates in your diary and start planning your visit – mmc2015, 29 June to 02 July 2015.
