See Science in a New Light

Nov 01 2017

Pittcon, the world’s leading annual conference and exposition for laboratory science, will be held February 26 through March 1, 2018, in Orlando, Florida, at the Orange County Convention Center. The exposition will take place Tuesday, February 27 to March 1.

This dynamic event offers a robust program with more than 2,000 technical presentations. At Pittcon, you can discover the latest research and findings in a wide range of disciplines from world renowned scientists.

One of the highlights of this year’s technical program is the Wallace H. Coulter Lecture, “Analytical Science in Precision Medicine: Facing the Challenges of the 21st Century Healthcare” which will be presented by Professor Jeremy Nicholson, Head of the Department of Surgery and Cancer and Director of the MRC-NIHR National Phenome Centre Faculty of Medicine

A Plenary Lecture, “Optical Microscopy: The Resolution Revolution,” presented by Nobel Laureate Dr. Stefan Hell, Director at the Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry in Göttingen and Director at the Max Planck Institute for Medical Research in Heidelberg, will be added to this year’s program.

Attending Pittcon affords a once-a-year chance to get a first-hand look at products, services, chemicals and ancillary items used in research, development and testing. Evaluate and compare equipment such as high throughput screening systems, incubators, centrifuges, freeze dryers, spectrophotometers, biomolecule analysis instruments, chillers, measuring instruments, and heating/cooling systems, autoclaves and much more.

The DemoZones on the exposition floor will offer scheduled 15-20 minute interactive product demonstrations by leading exhibitors. These sessions will also give attendees an opportunity to engage technical experts in question and answer sessions.

New this year on the exposition floor are the NEXUS theaters. These theaters will offer live presentations on a wide range of topics that will engage, entertain and inform. Each session will be conducted in an informal theater setting to facilitate questions and audience participation.

A unique networking opportunity are the Conferee Networking Sessions where conferees meet to discuss hot topics. These 90-minute informal sessions provide an avenue where scientists can meet and exchange ideas in their field of interest.

Another educational aspect to the Conference are the affordable skill-building Short Courses (Feb. 24-March 1) where participants will learn new techniques to improve job productivity. Classes, taught by leading professionals who are experts in their field, are available at various levels and durations. There are 100+ courses covering scientific topics such as techniques, analysis, regulations and best practices.

The registration fee is only $190 ($325 after February 5) and entitles a conferee to unlimited week-long access to the expo floor, technical presentations and event amenities. There is also a $100 Expo Pass which allows conferees unlimited access to only the exposition floor. Register for Pittcon 2018 online by clicking here.
