    Heathrow Scientific Names Douglas C. Reed as President

    Heathrow Scientific, a leader in manufacturing items for laboratories with an emphasis on design, function and innovation have announced that Douglas C. Reed has been named President, effective immediately.  As President, Douglas will have oversight of the strategic direction, expansion and global operations.  He will report directly to the Chairman, Jim Woldenberg. 

    Douglas Reed is a veteran in the life sciences, industrial and medical technology markets.  He has held a number of senior leadership roles at Fortune 500 and venture capital based start-up companies.  Most recently at Leica Microsystems, a Danaher Company, Reed was the Vice President and General Manager for North America. In this role, he was responsible for all commercial sales and marketing activity for three divisions.  Prior to Leica Microsystems, Reed had a lengthy career with Agilent Technologies where he worked in various sales and marketing management positions. He also held an executive role at Sensicore, a start-up water testing device company.

    Reed received his MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry from Marquette University. Reed resides in the Chicago area. He and his wife have four children.
