New book for scientists charts fight against cancer

Titled Why Millions Survive Cancer, it looks at the science of the disease, which effects around one in three people, and explains how normal cells can become cancerous.
Dr Pecorino also looks at how scientists are going about developing newtreatments, providing evidence-based lifestyle change recommendations.
"The idea for the book came from reading feedback about a textbook I had written on cancer biology. It was posted by a cancer survivor who had been driven to reading a university textbook to learn more about the science of cancer," she stated.
It is due out at the end of July and is described as essential reading for any scientists, as well as those interested in medicine and policy-making.
Dr Pecorino has worked on other publications, including Molecular Biology of Cancer: Mechanisms, Targets and Therapeutics.
