Analytik Jena Looks to Middle East Markets
May 09 2014
Analytik Jena AG has signaled its intention to expand both its core analytical instruments business and its life sciences activities in the Middle East region, one of the fastest-growing markets in the world in this field. The Company has added Neo-Science & Group Co to its network as a distributor of analytical instruments.
"We have gained a very experienced dealer and specialists in our essential technology segments who will support our customers in the four largest markets of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain with a sizable employee team," said Torsten Olschewski, General Manager of the Analytical Instrumentation business unit at Analytik Jena AG. "As a result, we can guarantee full support to our customers throughout the region."
Mohamed Al-Higari has been appointed Regional Manager supervising the Analytical Instrumentation division's operating activities in the Middle East. "With the expansion of our activities in the Middle East, we are establishing a further strategic foothold that will reduce our dependence on the strong Asian market and China in particular. The region is playing an increasingly prominent role for us in developing new sales potential for Analytical Instrumentation," continued Olschewski.
Important impulses are expected particularly from the petrochemical industry. At the same time, the areas of environment and health care are also gaining significance as quality of life continues to increase in the countries of the Middle East.
"The willingness to invest in important economic, technological and infrastructure projects has notably increased in the past few years. We are benefiting from this in the form of key projects and new reference customers while maintaining a solid profile that stands out among the competition."
In its largest division, Analytical Instrumentation, Analytik Jena generated revenue of EUR 57.8 million in the past financial year.
