New Data Matrix Tube Reader with Integral Database Interrogation.
Oct 30 2007
Developed in response to customer demand for easier access to database information, the new bench-top reader displays the relevant ID for each tube and can provide additional information such as the compound's name or the patient's name on its integral display screen. It has a sealed window with a wipe-clean surface, with a small footprint of 125mm W x 90mm H x 100mm D. The new reader can decipher codes in less than one second and is compatible with all 2D coded labware including glass compound storage tubes, cryo-vials and biological sample tubes. It reads codes on all tube types including ABgene, Matrix, Micronic, REMP, MatriCal & NUNC.
Commenting on the new product, Richard Laight, business development manager at Absolute Vision, said: "The ergonomic design of this scanner will make the handling of single tubes in the laboratory both easier and more efficient. The six simple function keys on the keypad allow for acceptance or rejection of the tube, plus basic interrogation through the database for the relevant field. This information is then shown on the two rows, 16 characters display panel on the front of the scanner."
