Triple Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer Introduced to Attendees at IMSC
Oct 22 2012
Following Bruker’s successful launch of their game-changing EVOQ™ LC-triple quadrupole (LC-TQ) mass spectrometers at JASIS 2012 in Tokyo, Bruker continued with its global introduction. The next stop in the launch tour for the EVOQ Qube and EVOQ Elite was to an international audience at the 19th International Mass Spectrometry Conference (IMSC 2012), held in Kyoto, Japan.
The Bruker EVOQ is a purpose-built innovation for the applied markets. The EVOQ TQ-MS with the Advance LC is designed with game-changing innovations, such as the vacuum-insulated probe, heated electrospray, active exhaust, and IQ dual ion funnel. Coupled with the high-performance EVOQ hardware is the equally high-performance software featuring Bruker’s unique compound-based screening (CBS) software for upfront method development on the triple quadrupole with a drag-and-drop, easy method setup. This is in conjunction with the all new PACER™ software, which flags up chromatogram runs that fail to fall within preset customer parameters.
Rohan Thakur, Vice President of the Bruker CAM division commented on the hardware and software components of EVOQ. “CBS helps you to develop the method upstream that has already been proven to be successful in laboratories using the SCION GC-MS system. This, coupled with the PACER software, helps you flag problem chromatograms of the LOQ, solving an everyday problem in these laboratories.
“If you look at the markets that we are targeting with the EVOQ Qube and EVOQ Elite products, the food-testing market environment, the environmental testing market, pain-management toxicology and discovery PK, it was important to design an instrument that delivers on this promise to reliably quantify thousands of real samples in the fastest sample-to-report time possible.”
Bruker hosted a Luncheon Seminar entitled ‘Game Changing Technologies in MRM Analysis’ which highlighted the EVOQ hardware and software and was presented by Bruker expert Jonathan McNally, Product Manager for the new EVOQ, from the Bruker CAM division.
Bruker also presented numerous posters at IMSC 2012 and attendees were free to view the new EVOQ Qube and EVOQ Elite at the Bruker Exhibition, Booth E and view in 3D the fly-through from injection to detection.
