Multichannel Spectroscopy for those Special Occasions
Jul 11 2013
Avantes' miniature spectrometers are well known for their high resolution in a small package. However, sometimes you want a combination of a broad range with a high resolution and that's where the Avantes Multichannel spectrometers come in handy. Up to 10 spectrometers combined into one housing with the possibility to combine all those into a single output spectrum, use them as master/slave or let them be triggered separately.
With over 15 years of experience in multichannel spectroscopy, Avantes offers the widest variety of choice in the market today. In a standard 19" rack mount, up to 10 spectrometers can be combined. These can be any from the Avantes catalog, starting with the robust and versatile UV/visible AvaSpec-ULS2048 up to the TEC cooled AvaSpec-NIR2.5 near infrared spectrometer. The total number of spectrometers connected to a single computer is only limited by USB, memory or processor limitations of the host computer.
Benno Oderkerk, founder and CEO of Avantes: "Many of our customers want to use several spectrometers at the same time, for instance to obtain a higher resolution with a broad range. We also equip multichannel spectrometer systems with trigger options, one spectrometer triggering another or them being triggered by an external event. Other options are a master/slave configuration, or all the options I've mentioned combined into one system. The possibilities are endless."
The Avantes multichannel spectrometers are frequently used for plasma measurements and LIBS configurations. In general, applications where high resolution with a broad range is needed in combination with a synchronised measurement. In AvaSoft, all spectrometer channels can be combined into one graph, making one virtual spectrometer.
