Retsch AS 200 Air Jet Sieving - Quick and Gentle Quality Control of Fine Powders
Sep 18 2019
The AS 200 Air Jet Sieving Machine developed by Retsch is particularly suitable for low density and low particle size materials which tend to agglomerate. This robust unit with outstanding longevity is operated with sieves of 10 microns mesh size up to 4mm. With an average sieving time of only 2-3 minutes, the AS 200 Air Jet is very gentle on the sample material as no mechanical sieving aids are required and is almost silent during operation thanks to the integrated silencer.
This Retsch Air Jet sieving solution is specifically designed for test sieves with a diameter of 203 mm/8“ (or 200 mm with adapter). The jet of air is generated by an industrial vacuum cleaner which can be adjusted by using the manual vacuum regulation. Optionally, an automatic vacuum regulation is available.
The open mesh function, a procedure which greatly reduces the number of near-mesh particles, provides optimum separation efficiency, excellent reproducibility and elongates the service life of the sieves.
Sieving time and nozzle speed are conveniently selected with a single button with the selected settings shown on the graphic display. For complete ease of use a Quick Start Mode is used to start the sieving process under standard conditions without entering parameters.
The AS 200 jet is equipped with a rotating slotted nozzle. The sieve and lid are placed above the nozzle. A vacuum generates a strong jet of air which disperses the particles on the sieve through the slotted nozzle. The material which is smaller than the mesh size of the sieve is transported by the back flow of the air to the cyclone or to the vacuum cleaner. The air jet helps to deagglomerate the particles and constantly purges the sieve mesh.
The AS 200 Jet fulfils all the measuring requirements that are related to ISO 9001 and includes a memory function for 9 Standard Operating Procedures.
