Fully Automatic Check Weighing and Recalibration Launched by Watson-Marlow Flexicon for the FPC50 Filling Machines
Aug 04 2009
Watson-Marlow Flexicon has equipped its popular FPC50 automatic liquid filling, stoppering and capping system with a Wipotec weighing cell which provides 100% check weighing of all vials. The weighing cell is connected to the filling system and thus fully automatic recalibration of the filling pump during the entire batch is ensured.
Programming of the new FPC50W is handled through a control panel comprising of a 12” touch screen which provides clear and visible settings as well as password protection to three levels. The FPC50W is inherently easy to use: operators are able to load and save programs with ease. In addition, users can set and save process parameters for specific applications, thereby saving time and effort.
The FPC50W, which is a new version of the popular FPC50, is a highly flexible aseptic filling system with integrated full or partial stoppering and crimp capping of vials. Able to deliver fill volumes ranging from 0.1ml to 100ml and a filling accuracy of ± 0.5%, the technology is highly suited to applications involving small batches such as contract fillers and research and development trials.
This latest addition to the Watson-Marlow Flexicon range is ideally suited to environments where cross contamination must be avoided. For example, the use of sterile, disposable tubing and filling needles ensures the minimum of human contact with the filling operation. In addition, the inherent characteristics of the FPC50W’s peristaltic design ensure that the entire fluid path is contained for single use making cleaning and validation extremely simple.
A major benefit of the FPC50W is that it permits fast change-over between the various batches of liquids to be filled. This enables users to eliminate time consuming and costly logistic procedures related to having product or volume dedicated pumps in stock.
The system is available with new DAFPA single-use filling accessories comprising, peristaltic pump tube, filling nozzle and fluid bag.
