New Microplate Handler Offers Unmatched Lab Automation Capabilities
Jun 20 2007
The new R-Series BenchCel® Microplate Handling System, features enhanced positional accuracy, increased payload, reduced installation time and simpler user adjustments. A new quick-swap robot module allows for fast exchange of one of the most critical and complex mechanical assemblies in a plate handler.
Like its popular predecessor the R-Series BenchCel is a robust benchtop microplate handling system that delivers the speed and precision of much larger and more expensive automation platforms. The R-Series BenchCel Microplate Handling System features a unique high-speed plate shuttle that accesses the integrated microplate stacks and peripheral instruments. Even the smallest R-Series BenchCel can support three peripheral instruments allowing customers to create highly configurable Workstations that combine a broad range of functionality, including barcode labeling, microplate sealing, plate reading, centrifugation as well as sophisticated liquid handling using Velocity11 or third-party peripherals. Users can choose from 2, 4 or 6 stack instrument configurations, and from four different sizes of removable racks with capacities of 15 to 70 standard microplates. A novel delidding function removes and replaces microplate lids as necessary, adding to system versatility
The new BenchCel R-Series Plate Handling System is powered by Velocity11's powerful BenchWorks? automation and control software with scheduler. Proven and reliable, BenchWorks now includes an improved robot device diagnostics module with an enhanced graphical user interface (GUI). Complimenting the advances in hardware and software, Velocity11 is also introducing new slot-style (top load) and front opening-style (front load) labware racks for the BenchCel R-Series Plate Handling System. The new racks may also be used with original BenchCel X-Series Systems.
